Hosted by The Hong Kong Printers Association & IDEAlliance, "The 1st Asia G7 Summit – Global Printing Standardization" was successfully held on 15th November 2011 at All in Print China. The one-day Summit attracted over 250 print-media and related industry players from China, Hong Kong, Japan, India and USA.
In recent years, G7 has become more and more popular in Greater China and Asia, which is widely considered as the future global trend. Hence, The Hong Kong Printers Association and IDEAlliance organized "The 1st Asia G7 Summit", with the purpose of introducing the benefits of G7 and printing standardization, so as to bring more latest and printing standardization related information to the industry.
Mr. Jackson Leung, Vice Chairman of The Hong Kong Printers Association and Mr. Joe Fazzi, Vice President of IDEAlliance delivered their welcome speeches to all participants and announced the opening of the Summit. The Organizer had invited prominent experts like Mr. Joe Fazzi, Vice President of IDEAlliance Media Production Technologies, Mr. Steve Smiley, ISO TC130 Expert, Mr. Ron Ellis, Chair of GRACoL Working Group of IDEAlliance and so on to the Summit, sharing with participants the concept and significance of G7, how ISO 12647 can be effectively put into practice, the application of G7 in digital printing, as well as the introduction of G7 PCC (G7 Process Control and Conformance) and PSA (Printing Standards Audit). A G7 Expert, Mr. Chen Ya Xiong, who is also CTO & Deputy Manager of C&C Security Printing Co., (Shenzhen) Ltd., was also invited to the Summit sharing with participants the successful experience on color management and process control, and further to the achievement of stability on product quality. Furthermore, Mr. Chris Winczewski from X-Rite and Mr. Kazuyuki Fukui from Konica Minolta had delivered speeches titled "Instrument Measurement and Analysis" and "Meeting Expectations for Digital Press" respectively. In the Question and Answer session, the audience passionately raised questions regarding the speeches delivered by speakers and the Summit ended with lots of applause.
The Summit was co-organized by The Printing Technology Association of China; and undertaken by Advanced Printing Technology Centre. It can also be treated as a successful event with the enthusiastic support from China Academy of Printing Technology, Shanghai Printing Trade Association, University of Shanghai for Science and Technology, Keyin Media, Hong Kong Design Institute and Pro-Act Training and Development Centre (Printing).
