Philips to go mobile with public signage lorry
Feb 27 2012 10:13:18 , 1027

Philips Public Signage is taking to the road with a lorry decked out with large-format digital display solutions, in order to allow UK resellers to showcase the products more efficiently.

Called the Mobile Solutions Suite, the specially customised vehicle will include products including a 52" (1.3m) glasses-free 3D screen, a 42" (1.1m) 32-point touch-table, a 42" (1.1m) capacitive-touch free-standing totem display, and a 2x2 46" (1.2m) ultra-thin bezel videowall mounted on Chief brackets. Philips Public Signage says the range on show offers options for hospitals, shopping centres, corporate receptions, museums, car dealerships and retail environments.

"The aim of the Mobile Solutions Suite is to make it easier for reseller partners to showcase digital signage solutions, utilising the large format displays Philips have to offer," explains Martin Ware, UK country manager for reseller MMD's Public Signage division.

"They can do this direct to their clients without the pitfalls that go with it, such as expensive shipping costs or risk of damage in transit. It is also smaller than the larger 40ft [12m] vehicles that competitors have favoured in the past, so easily allows accessibility in a wider range of venues."
