The ninth Print Futures Awards saw eight young people given a helping hand into future careers in print

The winners of the 2012 Print Futures Awards were unveiled at the All-Party Parlimentary Print Group event at the House of Lords on July 11th. Eight 16 to 30-year-olds were presented with cheques of up to ￡1,500 to further their careers in the industry.

"This year’s winners include apprentices planning further training courses and young people undertaking degree courses," says Steve Sibbald, national officer at sponsor Unite. "Their enthusiasm for print and commitment to working in the industry impressed the judging panel and we wish them all the best in their careers.”

Chanel Stracey, Jack Gardiner, Jennifer Cannon, Jamie Barrett, Amy-Fern Nuttall, Lewis Kemp, Sophie Bowyer and Jake Foulds were 2012's recipients of the awards, which are sponsored by Unite, The Printing Charity and the BPIF.

The Printing Charity's chief executive Stephen Gilbert comments: “Sponsoring these awards continues the ethos of the charity’s founders by helping to educate young people to enable them to earn a living wage in the industry.”
