The latest version of Fiery XF workflow software for wide- and superwide-format printers has been launched by EFI, boasting a customisable interface and new spot colour tools. The manufacturer explains that v5 of Fiery XF also expands on the number of drivers for wide-format devices while maintaining interoperability with EFI's own engines, plus ERP and MIS systems.
Specifically, Fiery XF v5 allows the individual users' screens to be manipulated so it contains only information they are comfortable with using, which EFI says will help eliminate errors across the workflow. This ties in with the product's modular format, which allows functionality to be added according to demand and budgetary requirements.
"We see detailed job costing, and can calculate how long the printer actually ran versus how long the press operator took to complete the job," explains Greg Priede, general manager of Ontario-based Category 5, which runs a VUTEk machine integrated with Fiery and EFI's MIS and ERP. "This allows us to address inefficiencies, reduce press down time and increase profit."
Fiery XF v5 adds over 50 new drivers for the wide-format machinery it supports, as well as offering 'a leap forward' with added spot colour tools and the Fiery Color Profiler Suite.
