Monotech joins hands with Canon India

Strengthening their existing partnership, Monotech Systems Limited is now assigned by Canon India for pan-India distributorship of Oce Arizona UV printers. Chennai-based Monotech has already been tied-up with Canon India since last four years to handle imagePROGRAF printers, but the fresh engagement of the company involves further into selling and servicing of Oce Arizona and Oce technical documents systems.

Eying a wider prospect in the UV printing segment, Canon India has magnified its engagement with Monotech Systems through which they slated to become Rs 30 crore partner by 2015. Pertaining to the new partnership, Dr Alok Bharadwaj, executive vice president, Canon India conveyed that they have decided to further extend relationship with Monotech owing to their pan-India presence, strong technical support, sales team and the option of multi-location billing. 

Wider exploration 

Canon India foresees expansion of its graphic business further with Monotech’s wide reach and support. “Monotech has been able to understand and appreciate the ambition of Canon and we are pleased that they have shown quite a focused approach,” said Puneet Datta, director, Professional Printing Products Group, Canon India. He further asserted that this tie-up would help Canon to penetrate its business in smaller towns and establish strong foothold accross the country. “We have installed around eight machines as of now and among the latest being the one at Agra,” he updated. 

Taking up new market strategies, Canon India is harboring on new focus, looking forward to getting new alliances for aggressive expansion of their current activities as well as plans to capture different segments in the next 4-5 months. “We are looking ahead to help our customers to gain knowledge of UV technology. Despite counting how many posters can be put up at a retail storefront, what quality and viability of communication can be used to make your brand standout is what UV is all about,” described Puneet adding that Canon India ambitiously plans for 30 percent market share in this segment in the next two years. 

Demo centre 

A team of experts attending the queries of customers who wish to know possibilities and applications like printing on different medias or substrates and other possible permutation and combination, Canon India has a demonstration centre at Okhla Industrial Area in New Delhi where they put on display Oce Arizona portfolio. In this respect, Puneet mentioned Canon Malaysia’s success story as they have so far installed 30 Oce Arizona printers across Malaysia and quite successfully ventured into multiple segments to provide all possibilities of UV technology. “They print microwave oven covers, laptops, wall papers and others. These possibilities are what we would like to share with our Indian customers. We hope it could surely be possible in the next three years,” said Puneet. 

Excited about their new engagement, TP Jain, managing director, Monotech Systems Ltd remarked, “We are privileged to be associated with Canon India and are happy to leverage its expertise in the wide-format printing and display graphics business.” He further mentioned that Monotech has now formed a new SBU (Strategic Business Unit) to focus on Canon/Oce product range. 

Monotech’s domain knowledge, strong sales and technical support expertise will surely be able to help Canon India spread its business across the country. On other hand, this will also be a learning opportunity for Monotech which just enters a new phase of selling Oce Arizona – one of the best in the industry from Canon.
