3D print with Pi: student claims 'world first' with home-made model


An engineering student claims to have built the first 3D print machine entirely controlled by a Raspberry Pi computer. Owen Jeffreys created the home-made device to demonstrate the possibilities of using a low-powered computing unit to power every aspect of the printer.
