InkSoft Updates Website with Latest Features

Albuquerque, New Mexico-based InkSoft, a supplier of software to create e-commerce websites and Web stores, recently redesigned its own website, incorporating the latest trends in design and usage. It serves as a resource for any type of decorated apparel or sign shop to use when designing or updating its own website.

Aside from updating the company logo to a more contemporary design, one of the major changes was implementing a single-page format to present features and benefits. The company says that allows it to display the most important content without guests having to click to other pages or otherwise navigate the website.

The redesign also added “sticky” navigation. Sticky navigation is a tool bar that initially scrolls with the page, but when it reaches a certain point, it “sticks” to the top of the page. By clicking on anything on the sticky navigation bar, the user is automatically scrolled to the appropriate section. There are a variety of plugins that can be purchased to do this.

The site is also more mobile friendly, thanks to two features to improve usability: a slide-out navigation bar and a static “call now” button at the bottom.

Another improvement not visible to visitors is the use of cross-browser coding standards. This means every page looks consistent with the home page in layout and design. While usually not possible to do perfectly due to the wide range of content on a site, the goal is to repeat as many design elements as you can, the company says.
