Fremont, California-based EFI, a manufacturer of wide-format printers and productivity software, announces the acquisition of UK-based Rialco Ltd., a supplier of dye powders and color products for digital print and industrial manufacturing industries.

Rialco will now operate as part of EFI’s industrial inkjet business and will continue to work with and support its existing clients, as well as expand and grow its capabilities with new products and customers.

According to EFI, the dye-sublimation market Rialco serves is one of the fastest-growing sectors of the global ink industry, with a recent analyst’s report forecasting 18.4 percent year-over-year growth in dye-sub print volumes through 2021, and a more than 100 percent increase in volume and value of dye-sub printed material in that same time frame.

Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed, but the acquisition is not expected to impact EFI’s first quarter of full-year 2016 financial results.

Rialco employees have joined EFI and will continue to work from Rialco’s facility in Bradford, which is in the county of West Yorkshire.
