Canon U.S.A. Announces Executive Appointments

Melville, New York-based Canon U.S.A., a maker of digital imaging solutions that makes digital imaging products that cover a wide variety of market segments, announces several executive appointments and promotions.


Toyo Kuwamura is the new senior vice president and general manager for the Business Imaging Solutions Group. Kuwamura has spent more than 35 years in the “copier” business since joining the company in 1980, the company says. He has spent his career in Japan, the United States and Canada, focusing on all areas of the business from marketing, product planning and sales administration. In addition, Kuwamura will retain his current position and responsibilities as president and CEO ofCanon Solutions America (CSA), which serves as the sales arm of Canon U.S.A.


Kuwamura succeeds Junichi Yoshitake, who will continue to work on building the Business Imaging Solutions Group.


The company also announces the addition of Yoshinori Shimono to Canon U.S.A. as a senior vice president of finance and accounting. Shimono joined Canon in 1985 and was most recently general manager of finance and accounting in Canon Inc.’s Image Communications Products Operations division.


Shimono succeeds Kunihiko Tedo.

Earlier in the year, the following appointments and promotions took place:

Kazuhiko Sasahara promoted to vice president and general manager of logistics, Canon U.S.A. Inc., and Tetsuhiro Minamide was promoted to president of Canon Information and Imaging Solutions and has also been appointed to the North America Board of Group Management, Service Business Board of Group Management and R&D and Manufacturing Board of Group Management, Canon Americas.
