Toronto-based digital signage network company Cineplex Digital Mediaannounces that it has been selected by Ontario, Canada-based The Beer Store to digitize and revamp the shopping experience for the store’s customers.
The focus of the digital upgrade is what is known as the retailer’s “Beer Wall,” which traditionally has been a static display of cans and bottles representing the store’s merchandise. Cineplex will be installing interactive tablets, which the store says will reduce clutter and streamline operations.
An effective sales-assist tool, the “Pricing Information Centers” (PICs) are free-standing units that will provide customers with product visuals and pricing. They will also allow for searching by brand and category, confirming product availability and inventory levels by individual location and providing information to customers on convenient self-serve tablets connected to the company’s central database. The PICs will be rolled out in nearly 400 locations this year. So far more than 145 stores across the province have introduced the new digital shopping tools; all 367 stores will have them by summer.
The Beer Store, which has 25 brewer-owners from across Ontario, has worked with Cineplex Digital Media before, having hired the company to install digital signage at more than 150 of its locations.
“We are honored to have been selected by The Beer Store to help transition the brand onto a digital platform,” saysNick Prigioniero, president of Cineplex Digital Media. “We’re confident that we have the tools to enhance the store’s consumer experience and encourage repeat visits.”
