Düsseldorf, Germany - Konica Minolta and Kodak showed a new integration of Kodak’s PRINERGY Workflow with Konica Minolta’s new AccurioJet KM-1 high speed B2+ sheet-fed UV inkjet press at drupa 2016. The integration delivers an advanced level of control for AccurioJet KM-1 users and was live on Konica Minolta’s drupa booth at the show in Düsseldorf, Germany, that finished on Friday.

The two companies have worked together for many years, with Kodak’s software already having been integrated with Konica Minolta’s bizhub PRESS printing devices. Through the integration with AccurioJet KM-1, inkjet printers across commercial, publishing and packaging sectors will also benefit from access to a suite of tools from Kodak. These include Kodak COLORFLOW colour management across multiple devices, Kodak PREPS imposition software, and Kodak PANDORA Step-and-Repeat software. In addition, Kodak’s partnerships for MIS, web-to-print and packaging solutions also become available to Konica Minolta inkjet customers.

Mark Hinder, Head of Market Development, International Marketing Division at Konica Minolta Business Solutions Europe GmbH, said: “We only partner with the best solutions vendors in the industry, as our long association with Kodak proves. Interest in the AccurioJet KM-1 has been phenomenal here at drupa, and we’re delighted to bring leading-edge software and workflow to what is clearly going to be a burgeoning Konica Minolta inkjet community.”

PRINERGY Workflow’s digital press management using the Workshop experience enables an advanced level of control of digital devices. Production decisions can be based on real-time metrics, thanks to its powerful Digital Job Ticket editor, allowing centralised changes of supported JDF parameters. These new capabilities provide complete control over all the job ticketing options – manually or through Rules-Based Automation – of multiple devices while monitoring and reporting the status of each.

Allan Brown, Vice President and General Manager of Kodak’s Unified Workflow Solutions group, said: “Kodak and Konica Minolta have been partners for many years and have demonstrated a commitment to print customers through continued joint research and development, resulting in leading digital and hybrid technology innovations for the industry. By extending our partnership to include the AccurioJet KM-1, Kodak is now capable of supporting Konica Minolta customers across all areas of its production portfolio and helping its customers automate all aspects of their print operation.”
