Englewood Cliffs, New Jersey-based LG Electronics USA announces that its “LG Experience,” an interactive television display launched earlier this year in nearly 400 retail locations nationwide, has been honored by the Path to Purchase Institute with the “Best of the Times” award.
The Chicago-based Path to Purchase Institute is a nonprofit organization focused on assisting its 500-plus member companies with information and education on shopping habits and marketing techniques.
The Best of Times award is the top honor in the Path to Purchase Institute’s 21st annual Design of the Times Awards competition.
LG’s TV Experience Wall, developed by LG Electronics USA and produced by Design Phase, is an interactive television display designed to educate TV shoppers about the latest advancements in TV picture quality, including High Dynamic Range (HDR) and 4K Ultra HD resolution, on the 2016 LG OLED and LG SUPER UHD TVs. It was chosen from more than 250 entries as “Design of the Times Gold Award” winner in the consumer electronics category, and as the overall “Best of the Times” platinum honoree from among all category award recipients.
LG tasked Design Phase to design and build multiple size versions of the TV Experience Wall, initially for Best Buystores, to help TV shoppers better understand and experience emerging technologies.
“Our LG TV Experience Wall was designed to educate consumers on the latest TV technology while immersing them in an incredible visual and audio experience on our stunning 4K OLED, Super UHD TVs and streaming soundbars,” says Rachel Olson, senior manager of customer marketing for LG Electronics USA. “OLED, HDR and 4K are amazing new technologies, but it can be daunting for some consumers to fully grasp their benefits. “The LG Experience Wall is an ideal way to educate consumers in a meaningful and highly engaging way with our leading retail partners.”
Olsen herself also was honored by the Path to Purchase Institute, as a 2016 Women of Excellence winner.
