Oct 28 2016 10:43:45 , 1471

Japan-based technology and digital printing equipment company Mimaki Global, announces that Mimaki Europe B.V. has finalized its acquisition of Italian digital textile printer manufacturer La Meccanica. This includes both an acquisition of all stocks for La Meccanica, as well as a name change. The company’s official name is now Mimaki La Meccanica S.p.A.

The acquisition also makes La Meccanica a subsidiary company of Mimaki. Mimaki states that the finalization will have little impact on performance for the fiscal term, and the company does not plan to revise its earnings forecast.

La Meccanica was founded in Bergamo, Italy, in 1977 and until recently was 100 percent owned by the family of its president, Paolino Gastoldi. The company has 32 employees.

The purchase was for an undisclosed amount. However, Mimaki did note that La Meccanica had sales of approximately $6.5 million in 2014 and had about $557,000 in capital on hand at the time of the sale.

The announcement comes as the latest news in Mimaki’s efforts to expand in Europe. In early 2016, the company announced plans to acquire the digital textile printer manufacturer.
