Image360 Franchisee Chooses Fujifilm Acuity After Extensive Research

Simon Nussbaum, owner and general manager of the South Elgin, Illinois,Image360 office, says he couldn’t be happier with the new Fujifilm Acuity Select 26 flatbed press that he just purchased. Nussbaum says it’s the first flatbed that his shop has owned, and he chose the Acuity after several weeks of extensive research into print quality and print speed.

“I’ve been kind of investigating (purchasing a flatbed) for two or three years,” Nussbaum tells Sign & Digital Graphics.

“We chose the Acuity Select 26 because it has the best combination of print quality and production speed,” Nussbaum says. “I thoroughly evaluated the competition, and after exhaustive research, looking at print quality and reviewing count times on speed; the Acuity Select 26 was great for print quality and print speed. Another asset is the brightness of the white ink that Fujifilm offers, compared to all the others.”

Nussbaum has owned his franchise since 2009. He initially bought a Signs Now franchise but switched brands over to Image360.

According to Fujifilm, Image360 is one of the first North American installs for the Acuity Select 20 series with the pneumatic registration pin system, in which all five pins can be controlled both automatically and manually to provide precise media set-up.

Nussbaum says another huge advantage of the machine is its ability to be used on many different substrates.

“This is important in marketing to our clients,” he says. “We’ve had success with everything from glass to wood, to doors, to more traditional substrates and metals, and even leather.”

Nussbaum also comments that the machine fit snugly into his 4,000-square-foot shop, which he describes as “packed to the gills.” The company has eight employees.

Other equipment that his shop uses includes HP and Xerox printers, a Gravograph laser, and plotters from Mutoh,Summa and Gerber.
