Kornit Digital Wins Silver in Hong Kong Digital Printing Award 2016
Dec 06 2016 09:07:48 , 1204

Hong Kong – Kornit Digital, a worldwide market leader in digital textile printing technology, has announced that the company won a Silver-level “Hong Kong Digital Printing Award 2016 (Special Material Category)” bestowed by the Hong Kong Digital Printing Association. The award was given in recognition of the color vibrancy and print quality of the work submitted by Kornit Digital which was a 100% polyester zipper vest printed on a Kornit Storm Hexa.

The print job on the vest was the perfect challenge for one of Kornit’s most innovative printing systems, particularly because of its uneven surfaces in the seam and zipper areas. All Kornit’s direct-to-garment printing systems are equipped with an adjustable head height mechanism: users can easily adjust the system’s print heads to accommodate the thickness of the printing substrates and output sharp and fine art designs precisely.

Kornit’s Storm Hexa has been equipped with state-of-the-art inkjet technology to turn it into the most advanced industrial direct-to-garment printing systems for medium-size businesses. Its features include 16 print heads and two additional colors for full CMYK, Red, Green and White support to cover wider colour gamut, a recirculating ink system to reduce ink consumption and to further optimize reliability, and a higher number of nozzles to increase productivity of up to 40% over previous Storm configurations.

It is also equipped with advanced productivity features such as a built-in pretreatment system, a quick replace pallet mechanism, a 4-liter bulk ink system, an integrated humidity system and a backup power system for a quick and easy system start. The Storm Hexa is the system of choice for color conscious applications such as the production of promotional and brand related garments. It also can produce up to 170 garments per hour in high productivity mode.

Based on years of textile printing industry experience, Kornit produces its own NeoPigment? inks which bring users a host of benefits: the widest color gamut in the industry, ultimate white ink performance, excellent results on a variety of fabrics, including Polyester. Also, fabrics can be produced in one single step as Kornit’s wet-in-wet printing process eliminates external pre-treatment processes.

The Hong Kong Digital Printing Association (HKDPA) introduced this awards program in 2003 to spotlight the innovative technologies, products, and systems emerging in the digital printing industry. An expert judging panel reviewed all entries from different categories, and rated the print from Kornit Storm Hexa based on its originality, innovation, impact on designers, fulfillment of market needs, difficulty of media handling and leveraging a novel technology.
