Xaar 1003 AMx Launched at Display Week 2017
May 24 2017 10:54:00 , 1290

Cambridge - Xaar, world leader in industrial inkjet technology, is delighted to announce the launch of its new printhead, the Xaar 1003 AMx for precise and controlled small drop (6-42 pL) functional fluid deposition. Perfect for the production of fine features, patterns and coatings, this new printhead is of interest to sectors such as advanced manufacturing, flat panel display, PCB, semiconductors and photovoltaics.

The Xaar 1003 AMx combines highly accurate drop placement, consistent drop volume and high frequency jetting with variable drop size capability to deliver precise functional fluid control. This is essential for the many applications which require tight regulation of coating thicknesses, precise patterns and management of substrate surface characteristics.

As with all of the Xaar 1003 family of printheads, this new addition to the range incorporates the unbeatable combination of Xaar’s TF Technology and Hybrid Side-Shooter architecture. This unique arrangement ensures that the printhead delivers unrivalled reliability even in the most challenging industrial applications.

In addition, the Xaar 1003 AMx has a series of special internal and external coatings which enable the printhead to jet a range of corrosive and reactive functional fluids. Combined with TF Technology, these features ensure a long printhead running time with functional fluids as well as reduced maintenance.

The Xaar 1003 AMx will be on show for the first time at Display Week Exhibition (23 – 25 May, Los Angeles, USA), along with the Xaar 1003 AMp (capable of producing very small drops of around 1-3 pL) and the Xaar 1201 (Xaar’s Thin Film Piezo Silicon MEMS printhead which produces drops of 2.5 pL).

Visitors to the Xaar booth (#309) can find out how Xaar’s technology offers the best inkjet solution for flat panel display applications, particularly when combined with Genes’Ink fluids. In addition, visitors can see samples of black obscuration, white obscuration, isolation on glass, nano-imprint lithography, silver nano-particle fluid on flexible plastic and photovoltaics, all printed with Xaar technology.

“The innovative, advanced manufacturing specific enhancements of the Xaar 1003 AMx printhead allow the controlled deposition and management of functional fluids like never before,” says Xaar’s Senior Product Manager, Simon Kirk. “We continue to expand our advanced manufacturing range of printheads to encourage new partnerships and create new markets as part of the inkjet revolution.”

Simon will be speaking at the Exhibitors’ Forum on Tuesday 23rd May, talking about how inkjet is becoming a widely adopted technology for industrial applications including display and printed electronics.
