MELVILLE, N.Y. - Canon Solutions America, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Canon U.S.A., Inc., today announced that Postal Center International (PCI), a print, mail and marketing solutions provider with headquarters in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., recently installed the Océ VarioPrint i300 expecting inkjet to be the future of print production. The new cutting-edge press offers its clients a wider print range and delivers, faster and more efficiently, on their one-to-one marketing needs. The installation of the press makes PCI one of the early adopters of inkjet in southern Florida.

Founded in 1984, PCI opened its doors exclusively as a mail servicing company managing and processing outgoing Certified Mail, Parcels and Priority Overnight packages for clients who could not meet their USPS pickup deadline. Evolving in tandem with the ever-growing needs of its clients, PCI integrated B&W Variable and Transactional Digital Printing to its line of services in 1992. Keeping pace with technology, PCI positioned itself as a solution-driven business, leveraging its knowledge of the marketplace and its purchasing power with like-minded companies like Canon Solutions America, a leader at the forefront of the latest print technology, to deliver a consistent end-to-end client experience from strategic planning through market delivery.

"Postal Center International has long been recognized for fostering innovation and delivering increased value to our clients," said Ismael Diaz, president, Postal Center International. "Adding the Océ VarioPrint i300 supports this with its high-performance, deadline-driven production printing. Just as our clients trust us to help them navigate an evolving print and digital landscape, we too rely on our collaborators like Canon to be part of our long-term strategy, helping to set us apart from the competition."

PCI is a print, mail and marketing solutions provider deeply rooted in technologies that interlace into its systems and add value to its clients. Dedicated to this mission, the company recently pushed forward a comprehensive roll-out of a complex, state-of-the-art enterprise-wide resource program, which was completed in less than a year. The launch of the program was part of a series of technology upgrades that includes the recent purchase of the Océ VarioPrint i300.

"We have made critical investments in the business that help ensure our clients' evolving needs are met while driving efficiencies – and accountability – at every level of the organization," added Diaz. PCI expects the i300 to help lay the foundation of support needed to create increased automation and efficiencies within the company's workflow processes.

"With the Océ VarioPrint i300, PCI benefits from an automated workflow and highly intuitive operation that is ideal for companies looking to increase flexibility, expand application mix, take on more digital work, or leverage inkjet versatility," said Francis McMahon, senior vice president, Marketing, Production Print Solutions, Canon Solutions America. "Additionally, we are prepared with a specialized team of document management consultants, who are focused on customer workflow optimization, and can further help drive solutions for PCI."

Océ VarioPrint i300 are made possible by Océ iQuarius technologies, which allow for robust, high quality print at high speed. PCI can better serve the needs of its clients with a sheet-fed inkjet press that enables large in-house facilities to handle new and more diverse applications – and do so profitably – without compromising speed or quality. Increased efficiency and productivity are direct results of the Océ VarioPrint i300's ability to provide a white-sheet-in, finished-application-out workflow, ideal for meeting shorter run, fast turnaround print requirements. Acquiring versatile printing systems like the Océ VarioPrint i300 helps PCI remain a strong competitor in the marketplace by helping the company manage its own print requirements at a reasonable cost.

"The Océ VarioPrint i300 offers print redundancy at both our Dade and Broward facilities, which allows us to meet greater demand with higher efficiency," confirmed Diaz. "It's not just 'added functionality;' it's a smarter, more flexible and more robust printing infrastructure that is supported by internal redundancies not only in the mail services, but also on the print side as well."
