Smurfit Kappa adds a Jetmaster 1890 to its facilities in Atlacomulco

Castelldefels – The Smurfit Kappa Group, one of the world's largest manufacturers of paper packaging, with operations in Europe and America, announces the purchase of yet another Barberán digital single-pass press. This new production line, a Jetmaster 1890 with 6 colors and a maximum width of 1890 mm print width and 80 m/min running speed will be installed in their Mexican plant in Atlacomulco and will be fully operational in Q1 2020.

Smurfit Kappa was one of the first global companies to take the step into industrial single-pass digital printing back in 2014. This new investment shows clearly their success and commitment with the industrial digital printing technology.

The new single-pass high performance printer has the capacity to print up to 12 million m2 annually, significantly reducing the lead time to get products to market and is a response to the growing need for high-volume digital printing.
